For those who are moaning about our start this season...
Now that you can't blame the board (because the money has been given) and you can't blame the managers (we got rid of Slav and Moyes) and you can't blame the team from last season (because we have 10 new players) just stop blaming anything -- and start supporting the team!
Our start isn't 'typical West Ham' because that team and that management no longer exists. It's not the manager or the board to blame, it's just the way it is. New players and a new manager will take time to settle in, and PeleG is no mug. As soon as we get points on the board things will get better. We have maybe one position to sort out in DM.

Are we free to point out where we are deficient and where improvements can be made... I mean what is the rule here?

A fairly ridiculous premise. My criticisms of the board were never based on money given, and I never bought into the Sky Sports mantra that 'the more you spend the better you do'. Those at the club and among the support who have need to wake up.

Here's a clue as to why yet again the ONWERS are still in the shite if this goes tits up.

BIGGEST OVERHAUL OF THE SQUAD.

This wouldn't be required if....

A) They backed previous managers like they have this one

B) If they didn't trust them with that kind of funding then why employ them? we are after all in the PL where that kind of spend or even three-quarters of it is not unusual each summer window.

I reckon Pellegrini wanted to do a FULL squad overhaul but was loathed to do so as this would be footballing suicide as we are kind of seeing so far so he kept the best of the shite we had in the hope they would be ok for a couple of windows.

INEPT RUNNING WAS ALREADY IN PLACE AND WE WERE ALL SHOCKED A MANAGER LIKE MANUEL TOOK IT ON KNOWING WHAT AN OVERHAUL IT WILL TAKE.

The argument that the board should have started to invest like this 2 seasons ago and we are now playing catch up does hold some weight, especially given the asset stripping of the last window.
But you cant turn back time only try to learn from your mistakes. In this respect the board look as though they have. Now its just down to the manager. Has he spent well in the right areas? A top draw dm would have been top of most people list.

When you Invest this much in new players this soon and expectc them to be world beaters as a team then think again! We will be ok, but expect a few results like this until we hit our stride

ched, sorry i can't have it that way, the board have had YEARS of these continual mistakes yet the new manager with the balls to take it on when lets face it he really didn't need to, will take the blame for TRYING to correct their abysmal underfunding and fuck-ups of the past because they actually gave him a relatively fair budget for what at other clubs would use to enhance their squads NOT massively overhaul it just to get it to a mid table level.

What they did this summer is what they should have done for at least the 3 previous therefore for me a pat on the back for Pellegrini even if he takes us down JUST FOR ATTEMPTING to unravel this continual inept running of the club on the football side AND getting them to invest in him.

You can't turn back time therefore they cannot be forgiven for position they put proffesionals in their field they hire through, whilst gobbing off it's not their fault, they will never learn as football is really quite clearly beyond their budget and they are only in it for the attention it gets them.

the move has created an unquenchable discontent. the match day experience which has always been the bread and butter of a football club is so wank now that it's like gout in the toe of the support, as a result we're naturally irritable and impatient.

we need champagne football and some semblance of success just to distract us.

I was told there was long ques again at the security gates, main entrance? Lots missed the first 20 minutes again? How long do you expect it to take to get off the underground and get in your seat? 1 hour?

I absolutely breezed through the security gates @ 2:55pm and it was the main one at the bridge, the easiest it's been for me.

" New players and a new manager will take time to settle in ...."

How much settling in time will Anderson need before he is able to beat a defender?

I'm probably one of the least pessimistic WHOers here and have supported manager after manager, hoping that they would turn the club around.

Saying that, I am seriously disappointed, not just by the the two shit results but also the shit football that we've played after spending 100 million.

We'll be in the bottom three after eight games, mark my words. Yes, partly due to an horrendous set of fixtures but also because of a lack of cohesive planning over the past few years.

The club needs forward thinking owners and a manager with an insight of how to BUILD a TEAM.

At present, it seems like a mess. Pelle was greeted with a great deal of excitement but he is in the autumn of his career, which is why he was in China.

For me, it was another vanity move. Like getting a washed up actor to star in your movie, hoping to get bums on seats.

Alfs Most of our supporters won't give any manager a chance or the time to build a team.

Bilic, Moyes out every time we lost last season

We have had an Everton syndrome a scattergun transfers approach

Better more decent players in our squad than last season

Trevor B 8:51 Mon Aug 20
Re: For those who are moaning about our start this season...
I'm not entirely sure how we have had a scattergun approach to transfers, by all accounts the players that were brought in were the ones targeted by the manager and in the positions he wanted to strengthen,
